

The best crime prevention technique is to assist
your neighbors and keep your streets clean and safe!
In order to keep your streets clean, The City of Frederick
staff asks that vehicles be removed from your street on the street cleaning
nights each week.
The City
of Frederick has established very high standards in street cleaning. Street sweeping is given such priority to
satisfy the following objectives:
· Environment
- Improve the quality of stormwater runoff from City Streets,
· Safety -
Remove road debris that can damage vehicles and adversely affect traction,
· Economy -
Extend pavement life and reduce wear on stormwater management systems,
· Aesthetics
- Provide a cleaner, more sanitary appearance to City streets.

Sec. 13-40. Parking prohibited during
garbage collection and street cleaning.
The
board of aldermen may by resolution designate those streets and those times for
which parking shall be prohibited so as to facilitate garbage collection and
street cleaning. Written notification of the terms of said resolution shall
thereafter be immediately delivered to the director of public safety. Upon
posting of the streets with notification of the restrictions as contained in
said resolution, it shall be unlawful to park a vehicle in violation thereof.

The City of Frederick Police Department will ticket
vehicles owners who do not comply with these parking standards. Vehicles who receive multiple tickets for
this parking offense will be towed at the owner’s expense.
