Downtown Frederick’s First Saturday Gallery Walk:

The Tradition Continues

Downtown Frederick’s First Saturday Gallery Walk

Saturday, June 7

Downtown Frederick’s First Saturday Gallery Walk continues to gain momentum.  Building on the tremendous success and public response from previous events, Downtown Frederick will once again roll out the red carpet on Saturday, June 7, inviting the public to enjoy the best that Frederick has to offer.  Mark your calendars for the June 7 event and join more than 60 galleries, shops and restaurants as they showcase the best of historic downtown.  Mingle with featured guest artists, view new exhibits at local galleries and enjoy music, live entertainment and special events at downtown restaurants and shops.  Sample light fare and sweet treats at specialty stores and check out new product lines for the summer.

Coinciding with June’s First Saturday Gallery Walk is the Frederick Festival of the Arts.  The Festival, which will take place Saturday, June 7 (10 a.m. - 6 p.m.) and Sunday, June 8 (10 a.m. - 5 p.m.), will be located along the Carroll Creek Linear Park.  Come and enjoy juried arts and crafts at the Festival’s 10th anniversary celebration.  While at the Festival be sure and stop by the Greater Frederick Development Corporation’s information booth and pick up literature on downtown merchants, as well as a brochure outlining the evening’s events for the First Saturday Gallery Walk.  Enter to win either an original work of art by artist and former Mayor of Frederick, Ron Young, or a gift basket filled with merchandise and gift certificates from many of downtown’s First Saturday Gallery Walk participants.

First Saturday Gallery Walk is a monthly event sponsored by the Greater Frederick Development Corporation (GFDC) in cooperation with downtown merchants, the Tourism Council of Frederick County, and the City’s Department of Economic Development.
