CITY OF FREDERICK WEBMASTER EARNS M.S. DEGREE

Frederick, Md. --- The City of Frederick’s webmaster, Scott Coble, will receive his M.S., Information and Telecommunications Systems, from Johns Hopkins University later this week. Coble joined the City of Frederick as the first full-time webmaster last summer. Coble’s first project as a City employee was the complete redesign of the City’s website. Today, the site can be easily navigated and is user-friendly. Some other key achievements throughout the year have been:

Released two versions of the website within a year (a new version expected to be released later this month).
Participant in Frederick 101 class on topic of city information. Received feedback on what citizens wanted in the City website and applied to current and future sites.
Completely redesigned the Frederick Police Departments website, adding many new areas of interest such as Frederick's Most Wanted, Crime Statistics and an employment section.
Working in collaboration with the City’s Legal Department on developing a website policy.

Prior to joining the City staff, Coble worked as a systems integrator for General Electric Global Exchange Services. He also worked as a software engineer for Acterna. Prior to completing his master’s work at Johns Hopkins, Coble received a B.S., in Computer Engineering, from Virginia Tech.
