City
Holds Community Legacy Neighborhood Meetings
The City of Frederick Department of Economic Development,
in partnership with Greater Frederick Development Corporation,
is nearing the final phase of the Community Legacy Neighborhood
planning process. In August and October of 2002, DED
sponsored community meetings in each of the 3 Community
Legacy Neighborhoods: the East End, North Market Street
and West Patrick Street.
As
these plans near completion, DED invites residents,
business owners and other stakeholders in each Community
Legacy Neighborhood to attend a final neighborhood meeting
in order to review the recommendations for the neighborhood
and assist in prioritizing future revitalization projects.
The
East End Neighborhood Meeting will be held on Wednesday
June 18 at 7:00 pm at the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education
Center, 40 S. Carroll Street. The West Patrick Street
Neighborhood Meeting will be held on Thursday June 26
at 7:00 pm at the Talley Recreation Center 2nd floor
conference room, 121 N. Bentz Street. The North Market
Street Neighborhood Meeting will be held on Wednesday
July 2 at 7:00 pm at the Frederick Friends Meetinghouse,
723 N. Market Street.
Additionally,
the Community Legacy plans will be presented to the
Mayor and Board of Aldermen at workshop on Wednesday
July 9 at 2:00 pm, to the Planning Commission on Monday
July 14 at 6:00 pm and again to the Mayor and Board
of Aldermen for adoption at Public Meeting on Thursday
July 17 at 7:00 pm. These meetings are held in the City
Hall Board Room.
