MAYOR
CALLS FOR SPECIAL MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF
ALDERMEN TO TAKE PLACE ON THURSDAY
Frederick,
Md. --- Mayor Jennifer P. Dougherty has requested a
Special Meeting of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen for
the purposes of requesting an Executive Session to take
place on Thursday, July 17, beginning at 2 p.m. Mayor
Dougherty will request a vote of the Aldermen to convene
the meeting as a closed Executive Session. The meeting,
which will begin at Winchester Hall with the Frederick
County Commissioners, will then conclude at City Hall
exclusively with the Mayor and Board of Aldermen. This
action is in accordance with the authority granted under
the Annotated Code of Maryland, State Government Article,
Sections 10-508 (a)(1)(i) and 10-508 (a)(10)(ii).
The Mayor and Board of Aldermen will meet with the Frederick
County Commissioners for the purpose of discussion of
10-508 (a)(10)(ii); to discuss public safety, if the
public body determines that public decisions would constitute
a risk to the public or public security, including;
(ii) the development and implementation of emergency
plans. The Mayor and Board of Aldermen will the return
to City Hall in a closed Executive Session for the purpose
of 10-508 (a)(1)(i); the appointment, employment, assignment,
promotion, discipline, demotion, compensation, removal,
resignation, or performance evaluation of appointees,
employees, or officials over whom it has jurisdiction.
The Mayor will entertain a motion to this effect at
2 p.m. and will comply with the Open Meetings Act to
the fullest extent.
