The Letter of Map Revision was issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency on October 3, 2002 in response to an application by the City of Frederick. The City was required to advertise the change in the floodplain of Carroll Creek in local newspapers on October 18th and 25th of last year. This was followed by a mandatory 90-day appeal period for citizens to request reconsideration. The appeal period ended January 24, 2003. Kelly Bronowicz, the engineer handling the City’s application for FEMA, reported this week that there were no appeals; therefore making the LOMR became effective on January 24, 2003.
Residence who require a copy of the City’s Letters of Map Revision can pick one up at the City of Frederick’s Engineering Department.
