PREPARING FOR AN EMERGENCY
FREDERICK, MD -- In a joint effort, Frederick County Government and The City of Frederick are working to inform residents of vital information needed in the event of an emergency. Your local emergency officials recommend the following:
What should I do to prepare?
REMAIN CALM. Take reasonable precautions just as you would for a snowstorm.
- Store food, water and medicine for three days.
- Obtain a battery-powered radio and extra batteries.
- Develop a family emergency communication plan.
What should I do if something happens?
- Find an indoor location and remain inside.
- Turn on your local radio or TV emergency stations:
- WFMD 930 AM
- WFRE 99.9 FM
- WAFY KEY 103.1 FM
- Frederick County Government cable Channel 19
- Frederick City Channel 99
- Follow instructions from the local emergency officials provided by local media and the Emergency Alert System.
