CITY TO WORKSHOP EAST CHURCH STREET RECONSTRUCTION

PUBLIC COMMENT ENCOURAGED

Frederick, Md. --- The City of Frederick is in the process of completing design plans for the reconstruction of East Church Street. The project, from East Church Street to North Market Street, has been ongoing for over a decade. The Mayor of Board of Aldermen will receive a project update at their Workshop on Wednesday, February 19, 2 p.m. A recommendation will be discussed from the Streets and Sanitation Committee, as well as a presentation of the scope of work and recommendations by the Engineering Department.

This project will entail replacing 75-year old water and sewer mains, street resurfacing and sidewalk restoration. Also discussed at next week’s Workshop will be the recommendation regarding undergrounding the overhead utilities.

Many residents and property owners will be impacted by this project. This public workshop is the opportunity for citizens to view the presentation and provide valuable feedback to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen. Notices will be delivered to each property affected by the proposed Church Street Reconstruction Project.
