CHRISTMAS TREE COLLECTION 2004

Frederick, Md. --- Please be advised the City of Frederick will begin its Annual Christmas Tree Collection on January 5th and complete it on January 6th. There will be no call back day for the Tree Collection.

The City has been divided roughly in half; North and South. The dividing line is (from West to East) Yellow Springs Road, Rosemont Drive, 2nd Street, Church Street extended and Gas House Pike.

The North side will be collected on January 5th and South side will be collected the January 6th.

The City recycles the trees that are collected. They are ground up and utilized as mulch on City properties as a way to reduce material costs and to keep these biodegradable items out of the County Landfill. This year the City expects to collect between 6,000 and 8,000 trees.

Please make sure trees are curbside and free of ornaments, garland, tinsel, lights, or tree stands. Also please remove any plastic bags from around the trees.

If you do not have the trees out during these designated times, the County Landfill will accept them. The County Landfill is located at 9031 Reich's Ford Road, 3 1/2 miles South of route I-70. They can be reached at 301.600.1848 for further details.
