KENNETH SHAPIRO JOINS CITY AS ASSISTANT ATTORNEY

Frederick, Md. --- The City of Frederick is pleased to welcome Kenneth J. Shapiro as assistant City attorney. Shapiro will support the Office of Legal Services in providing high quality legal services to the City of Frederick and the City Police Department.

Shapiro comes to us with seven years experience at the local level, practicing with both the Montgomery County and Frederick County State Attorneys Office. Most recently Shapiro served in the Felony Trial Division of the Frederick County State Attorneys Office, as a Chief of the Juvenile Division and as a District Court Prosecutor with the same office.

Shapiro received his Bachelor's Degree (in Finance and Marketing) from Ohio University and graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law.

"My sincerest thanks to Liz Watson for her service to the Frederick Police Department and the citizens of Frederick. She will be sorely missed," stated Chief Kim Dine.

"I am extremely pleased to be working with Kenneth Shapiro as our legal adviser. His intimate knowledge of policing, prosecution, and the City of Frederick will be an outstanding asset to the agency," added Chief Dine.

Shapiro is a member of the Frederick County Bar Association and currently resides in the City of Frederick with his wife Joanna, son Chase, and daughter Emma.
