MAYOR
DOUGHERTY PRESENTS AWARDS TO THE CITY EMPLOYEES
Frederick,
Md.--- The City of Frederick's Department of Public
Works has awarded John Lee with the distinction of Employee
of the Year for 2003. Lee received this award for his
enthusiastic approach in assisting new employees in
learning proper procedures and policies.
"John
Lee is the type of employee any employer would love
to have; he has been Public Work's employee of the month
three times and is very deserving of being selected
Employee of the Year for Public Works," stated
Fred Eisenhart, City of Frederick Director of Public
Works.
Lee was nominated for Employee of the Month in October
of '02 that made him eligible for Employee of the Year.
He is the 12th recipient of this award. Other receipts
include: 1992 Carleen Bowie, 1993 Christopher Flanagan,
1994 Ronald Myers, 1995 Ramona Ridgely, 1996 Russell
Goodsell, 1997 Anthony (Tony) Norwood, 1998 David Dawson,
1999 Eva Simpson, 2000 Joel Falkenstein, 2001 Gilmore
(Chip) Stitley, 2002 John Lee.
The
Mayor also presented the first Employee Aspire Award
to Chuck Boyd, director of planning and community development,
for the implementation of water allocation ordinance
guidelines. This award was created as an employee incentive
program for City employees who exceed expectations in
service to our citizens or co-workers. The recipients
must be nominated, the criteria for nomination are:
creativity in problem solving, speed of service, efficiency
of service, introduction of an initiative or system
that improves customer service, budget control, or operations.
Each award winner will receive a certificate and a gift
certificate. There will be 12 monthly winners that will
be considered for the Annual Employee Aspire Award,
which will be awarded in January.
