CITY
OF FREDERICK SPRING BULK TRASH BEHIND SCHEDULE DUE TO WEATHER
Frederick, Md. --- The City’s tri-annual bulk trash collection, which began yesterday, Monday, April 7, is running behind schedule due to an unusually heavy campaign and weather. Citizens are asked to place bulk trash curbside on their scheduled day, by 7 a.m., but to expect a half to a full day delay. The Department of Public Works will complete an area before moving to the next. Also note that a separate trailer is used for all appliances. Do not be alarmed if appliances are left curbside, as appliances are picked up after all other bulk trash has been removed.
Residents who wish
to participate should place acceptable materials curbside before 7 a.m. on the
day of collection in their area. Acceptable
materials include washers, dryers,
stoves, refrigerators, televisions, steel pipe, furniture, dishwashers,
mattresses, appliances, brush and small amounts of building materials from home
repairs.
Unacceptable materials
consist of household hazardous wastes such as paint, pesticides, solvents, used
motor oil, tires and batteries. Building materials left by a private contractor
and metal fence posts with concrete attached are also unacceptable. Materials
not eligible for the City’s bulk trash pick-up can be disposed at the Frederick
County Landfill. Information on the
landfill can be obtained by calling 301-600-1848.
The schedule for collection is as follows:
AREA 1: Includes West Patrick Street,
South Street, Monocacy Blvd., and East Patrick Street and all of the area
south of Patrick Street to the City limits, from East to West.
AREA 2: Includes Fourth Street, Dill Avenue,
Rosemont Avenue, and the entire area south to west Patrick Street,
South Street, Monocacy BLVD, and East Patrick Street from east to west to
City limits.
AREA 3: Includes the area north of Fourth Street
from Market Street eastward to Gas House Pike including both sides of Market
Street.
AREA 4: Includes
the area north of Fourth Street from Market Street westward to Rosemont Avenue
not including Market Street.
The next bulk trash
pick-up will be in August 2003. Additional information on bulk trash pick-up
can be obtained by contacting the Department of Public Works at 301-600-1173.
