COMMUNITY PROMOTIONS APPEALS

FOR PROPOSED FY04 CITY BUDGET

Frederick, Md. --- Mayor Jennifer Dougherty and the Board of Aldermen will be holding an evening Workshop on Wednesday, April 30, at 7 p.m., in the Board Room of City Hall, to discuss the Community Promotions section on the proposed FY04 budget. The Community Promotions budget seeks to provide funding to groups or organizations that provide services and/or programs that the City does not, as well as serves to quality of life and economic development issues. This year the City received requests from 24 groups. Of those 24, the FY04 proposed budget will fund 18, and two additional groups will likely receive funding through a committee. Four were denied.

The evening Workshop will provide groups and organizations that submitted a request to comment on the proposed budget. Groups who are proposed to receive, as well as those not scheduled to receive funding may appeal.
