Frederick, Md. --- The City of Frederick has five vacancies on the Fair Housing Commission.
On May 16, 2002 the Mayor and Board of
Aldermen repealed Appendix F of the City Code and adopted a new replacement
Appendix F- Housing Discrimination Ordinance. Section 10 of the new ordinance
establishes a five member Fair Housing Commission.
There are five Fair
Housing Commission positions open, with terms varying. A chairman, whom the Mayor will appoint,
will lead this commission. The Fair
Housing Commission responsibilities are 1) to promote fair housing in the city
and 2) initiate or receive and investigate complaints of housing
discrimination.
City
residents interested in serving on the Fair Housing Commission should submit a
current resume, with a letter of interest indicating which Commission or Board
you are interested in. Please send this information to Mayor Jennifer P.
Dougherty no later than September 30, 2002.
