CITY OF FREDERICK LETTER OF MAP

REVISION RECEIVES FEMA APPROVAL

Frederick, Md. --- The City of Frederick received a letter late Thursday evening confirming the approval to the City’s Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to the Flood Insurance Rate Map and Flood Boundary and Floodway Map.

FEMA's approval will provide significant relief to property owners in the affected area by eliminating the need for flood plain insurance. For years owners have paid a premium for flood insurance. This LOMR from FEMA will eliminate this insurance cost for owners.

The City of Frederick is thankful to U.S. Senator Barbara A. Milkulski who worked diligently in the process seeking approval from FEMA.
