MAYOR DOUGHERTY’S WEEKLY NEWS CONFERENCE FOR OCTOBER 22

Frederick, Md. --- Mayor Jennifer P. Dougherty will hold her weekly news conference on Tuesday, October 22, at 10 a.m., in the Board Room of City Hall. The following items will be discussed.

1. Recap of Mayor Dougherty’s trip with Joe Pinto, the Frederick Keys General Manager, last Friday to Ripkin Stadium, in Aberdeen, Maryland.

2. Neighborhood Advisory Council deadline for applications has been extended to November 1, 2002.

3. Candidate Forums for November Election in Frederick County.

4. Public Meeting for Allegheny Power’s Electrical Substation at Fort Detrick. Meeting to take place on Tuesday, October 22, 2002, at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Frederick County Health Department.

Allegheny Power will present information regarding its intent to construct an Electrical Substation on Fort Detrick to support electrical requirements in northwest Frederick. A recent Environmental Assessment (EA) considered three alternate sites on Fort Detrick.
