MARKS AMERICAN EDUCATION WEEK
WITH SCHOOL VISITS
Frederick, Md. --- City of Frederick Mayor Jennifer Dougherty will celebrate the 81st annual observance of American Education Week — November 17-23, with a number of visits to area schools. American Education Week is a time for saluting public schools and the relationships between teachers, students and parents. The National Education Association (NEA), in collaboration with the American Legion and other organizations, established American Education Week in 1921 as a way to draw public attention to the needs of schools.
Mayor Dougherty’s Schedule of School Visits includes:
City of Frederick public schools, or public schools which serve residents of the City of Frederick include; Frederick High School, Governor Thomas Johnson High School, Governor Thomas Johnson Middle School, Monocacy Middle School, West Frederick Middle School, Hillcrest Elementary School, Monocacy Elementary School, North Frederick Elementary School, Parkway Elementary School, South Frederick Elementary School, Waverly Elementary School, Spring Ridge Elementary School and Whittier Elementary School.
