MAYOR DOUGHERTY
TO RIDE A BICYCLE FOR “BIKE TO WORK DAY”
ON MAY 3
On Friday, May 3, Mayor Jennifer Dougherty will ride a bicycle to celebrate “Bike to Work Day”.
The Mayor’s bicycle ride will start at 7:00 a.m. at City Hall and proceed to the MARC Train Station on East Street. Tom and Emily Peperone from Wheel Base bike shop, Eva Rosvold, Executive Assistant to the Mayor and others will accompany her on the ride.
The MARC Train Station is a designated pit stop for cyclists riding to work in Frederick on May 3. A light breakfast will be available and participants can register for door prizes. Mayor Dougherty and Frederick County Commissioner David Gray will speak on their support for cycling and bike paths at 7:30 a.m.
“Bike to Work Day” is an annual event sponsored by the Washington Area Bicyclists Association and the Washington COG.
