CITY OF FREDERICK BEGINS BULK TRASH PICK-UP MONDAY,
APRIL 1
The City’s tri-annual bulk
trash pick-up will be held Monday, April 1 through Thursday, April 4. Residents need to place
acceptable materials at the curb before 7:00 a.m. on the day of collection in
their area.
Acceptable materials include
washers, dryers,
stoves, refrigerators, televisions, steel pipe, furniture, dishwashers,
mattresses, appliances, brush and small amounts of building materials from home
repairs.
Unacceptable materials consist of
household hazardous wastes such as paint, pesticides, solvents, used motor oil,
tires and batteries. Building materials left by a private contractor and metal
fence posts with concrete attached are also unacceptable. Materials not
eligible for the City’s bulk trash pick-up can be disposed at the Frederick
County Landfill. Information on the
landfill can be obtained by calling 301-600-1848.
The schedule for collection is as follows: Monday,
April 1, includes
West Patrick Street, South Street, Monocacy Blvd., and East Patrick Street
and all of the area south of Patrick Street to the City limits, from East to
West; Tuesday, April 2, includes Fourth Street, Dill Avenue, Rosemont Avenue,
and all of the area south to west Patrick Street, South Street, Monocacy
BLVD, and East Patrick Street from east to west to City limits; Wednesday,
April 3, includes the area north of Fourth Street from Market Street eastward
to Gas House Pike including both sides of Market Street; and Thursday, April 4,
includes the area north of Fourth Street from Market Street westward to
Rosemont Avenue not including Market Street.
The
next bulk trash pick-up will be the first week of August. Additional
information on bulk trash pick-up can be obtained by contacting the Department
of Public Works at
