GLENDENING TO ISSUE EXECUTIVE ORDER IN
THE
CITY OF FREDERICK MARCH 18
Governor Parris N. Glendening will use The City of Frederick’s Monocacy Water Plant as the backdrop when he issues an Executive Order declaring Central Maryland in a drought emergency at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 18, 2002. Mayor Jennifer P. Dougherty, Delegate Sue Hecht and other local elected officials will be in attendance.
Governor Glendening will review the level-1 mandatory water restrictions for the region. In addition, Glendening will announce the creation of a Water Resource Management Commission that will develop a long-term strategy to help prevent drought conditions.
The Monocacy Water Treatment Plant is located at 1950 North Market Street.
