MAYOR DOUGHERTY ANNOUNCES ENHANCEMENTS TO THE CITY OF FREDERICK’S WEB PAGE
Mayor Jennifer Dougherty is pleased to announce that more information is now available on the City’s website. The additions include home pages for several departments, a Voting Record, a Photo Gallery and an updated version of the City’s Charter and Code.
“During the community roundtables, people told us they wanted more on-line features,” said Mayor Dougherty. “Updating the City’s website with new information is another way of keeping our citizens informed on the business of their government. “Timely, current and useful information for our citizens is my priority for the City’s web site,” commented Mayor Dougherty. I realize not everyone surfs the web,” added Mayor Dougherty. “The web site is just one method to communicate with our citizens. Our priority is to utilize each communication tool effectively.”
The departments added to the City’s web site include Finance, Human Resources, Legal Services and Purchasing. The Voting Record from the Mayor and Board of Aldermen meetings is found on the Public Information page. The Photo Gallery highlights pictures from City activities. Due to the present drought situation web visitors will also find water conservation tips linked from the What’s News page.
“The public meeting agendas and minutes continue to be the popular pages,” stated Jeanette Eleff, Public Information Officer. “Agendas are placed on the City’s web page no later than three days before the public meeting. Minutes are available on the web after approval from the appropriate Board or Commission is obtained. People can also reach City staff with questions because the contact information is on each page.” Eleff encourages the public to use the Citizen Services page to locate City information.
