CITY OF FREDERICK SEEKING
MEMBERS FOR PUBLIC ARTS TASK
FORCE
Frederick, Md. --- The City of Frederick is currently seeking interested and qualified individuals to serve on its newly established Public Art Task Force.
The Public Art Task Force would be divided into two
committees. One committee would
establish public art guidelines for the City of Frederick’s public art
projects. These guidelines would be
presented to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen in early spring 2003 for
approval. The second committee would
assist in granting the $10,000 budgeted for a public art project celebrating
the 75th anniversary of Baker Park.
This committee would be responsible for drafting a Request for
Qualifications for artists, reviewing submissions and making recommendations to
the Mayor and Board of Aldermen.
The City is anticipating holding the first Public Art Task
Force meeting the week of January 13th, 2003.
Persons interested in the serving on the
Public Arts Task Force should contact Eva Rosvold, Executive Assistant for
Mayor Jennifer P. Dougherty, by January 6, 2003. Additional
questions should be directed to 301.360.3838.
