CITY OF FREDERICK RELEASES

PAIR REPORT DRAFT

Frederick, Md. --- The City of Frederick’s Planning Department is pleased to announce the release of a draft of the “Plan Assessment and Review” (PAIR) report.  The PAIR is a report that identifies the most critical issues facing the City of Frederick.  This document will then focus out energies while creating the new Comprehensive Plan.  A consulting firm, HNTB of Columbia, Md., compiled the report by analyzing trends and interviewing city residents and government officials, and their own observations.  HNTB believes some of the most important issues to investigate are:

·       What is the need for affordable housing?

·       What kind, and how many parks are needed?

·       What can City government do to improve the quality of residential, commercial, and industrial development?

·       How much will Frederick grow, and how much should it grow?

·       What is Frederick’s place in this region?

·       How can the City provide water to all the new businesses and homes?

We invite the public to discuss the report, and tell City officials what your priorities are.

This is the first step in developing the City’s new Comprehensive Plan and Development ordinances.  This plan will affect the lives of every resident of Frederick.  We need feedback!  Copies of the PAIR will be available at City Hall and the C. Burr Artz Library.  People with email could have a copy emailed in Microsoft Word© format.  For additional information please call 301/600-1499 or email compplan@cityoffrederick.com.
