MAYOR DOUGHERTY HOSTS GOVERNOR GLENDENING’S
VISIT
FRIDAY, APRIL 5
Mayor Jennifer Dougherty will host a visit by Governor Parris Glendening at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 5, when he declares a Drought Emergency for the Central Maryland Region and Baltimore City service area.
Jane Nishida, Maryland Department of the Environment Secretary, Hagner Mister, Department of Agriculture Secretary, Jan Gardner, Frederick County Commissioner and William Hall, City Alderman will be in attendance.
Governor Glendening will implement Level One Mandatory Restrictions and call for voluntary water conservation in other areas of the state. The Governor will also announce a Long-Term Water Resources Management Commission to review the region’s groundwater issues.
The Governor’s visit will take place at the Monocacy Water Treatment Plant located at 1950 North Market Street.
