MAYOR DOUGHERTY INVITES TOP 100 WATER USERS TO DISCUSS
WATER CONSERVATION ON MAY 2
Mayor Jennifer Dougherty has invited the City’s top 100 water users to participate in a meeting on Thursday, May 2 at 2:00 p.m.
The purpose of the meeting is to inform the top users on the status of the City’s water supply
and to engage the participants in a discussion on water conservation methods.
“This meeting is intended to be a collaborative endeavor,” stated Mayor Dougherty. “We are looking for ways to help residential and commercial water customers comply with the drought restrictions. We need help in further reducing the City’s consumption of water.”
The meeting will include a presentation by the City’s Drought Coordination Team as well as an open discussion of water conservation goals and methods.
“I encourage the top users to attend and to be prepared to share their water conservation ideas with the group. Our water crisis is everyone’s problem and it will take everyone working together to solve it.” Said Dougherty.
The meeting will be held in the City Hall Board Room from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. The top 100 invitees can call Susan Harding at 301-600-1385 to confirm attendance.
