MAYOR DOUGHERTY’S WEEKLY TUESDAY NEWS CONFERENCE TO BE TELEVISED ON CHANNEL 99

Beginning on Tuesday, April 2, Mayor Dougherty’s weekly news conference will be televised on City-TV channel 99 at 10:00 a.m.

Since January 15 the Mayor has held a news weekly conference to inform the media on the major issues in The City of Frederick. “This weekly news update an example of open government,” remarked Mayor Dougherty. “It is vital that we continuously keep our citizens informed on the business of their local government. I am very pleased that our residents can now see and hear this news first-hand by watching channel 99.”

During her campaign, Dougherty stressed the importance of opening the doors of government. She also envisioned increased utilization of the City’s television channel. Interns from Hood College, Frederick High School and the Frederick County Career and Technology Center have been instrumental in the latest addition to City-TV 99.

“We are fortunate indeed to have such talented youth in our community. These interns are leading the way for an enhanced intern program at City Hall. The Human Resources Department is getting ready to rollout the new initiative this week.” stated Mayor Dougherty.
