NAC 7 Monthly Meeting April 1, 2008

The meeting was opened by Don Dean with introductions.

Corporal Henneberry: Reported 421 calls with 15 arrests since the March meeting. There were 2 burglaries: one commercial in the 800 block exhausted all leads; the other was residential on West 14th Street. Since the monthly statistics there has been a burglary at a business at 405 W 7th Street, residential burglary at 601 E 16th Street, a theft and assault at the Liberty gas station, and a total of 5 assaults.

Stephanie Ambush handed out the agenda with time allotment for each topic. Stephanie also announced that May 16th is Bike to Work Day. Stephanie brought us a thank you letter from The Frederick Community Action Agency for our $200 donation to the Frederick Food Bank.

Zoltan Nagy with Buckeye Development presented their plans for the Sharpe’s Office Building and handed out a project fact sheet. He also asked for any comments or questions.

There was a discussion on the importance of allowing for adequate parking as to not impact the surrounding neighborhood.

Joe Adkins, recently promoted to Deputy Director of Planning, was so kind as to attend our meeting and bring us an update on the 2010 Comprehensive Plan Goals. The goals are the first step in outlining the direction that the City of Frederick will take for the next 30 years. Carol Krimm provided us with a timeline for the Rails to Trails.
