Members Present: Don Dean, Gail Bradley, Claudia Winkelman, David Winkelman, Mike Bradley, Marie Zinnert, Earl Smith, and Bob Cole.

City Representatives Present: Alderwoman Marcia Hall, Stephanie Davis

Citizens Present: 4

Police Representative: Officer Payne

Officer Payne:

There was nothing to report for our area. There was a suggestion to put a stop sign at Neidig and 14th.

Stephanie Davis:

Stephanie Davis passed out the agenda and made some announcements.

We are in area 1 for bulk trash pickup. Items need to be set out by April 10th.
Yard waste is the same time as trash night in the month of April.
There is thought of combining NAC 5’s cultural festival and the city’s into one somewhere on Rt. 40. Businesses recognize the diversity and want to contribute.
April 18th & 25th will be workshops at 7 pm on the budget.

New Business:

Marcia Hall introduced Zoltan L. Nagy of Buckeye Development, LLC who is proposing to build a four to five story 80,000 sq ft. medical office building on the Sharpes’ Florist property. There would be retail in the first level such as Sharpe’s Florist and a pharmacy. Parking would be sufficient and traffic is one way. A citizen raised the question about the safety of children from Hope VI (when developed) walking to school. Mr. Zoltan Nagy can be reached at 301-696-0900.

Old Business:

We voted in favor of using some of our money to buy 5 - $100 gift certificates from Best Buy for TJ High’s Safe & Sane. Marie Zinnert said that TJ Middle has TJ Day in June and could use money.

Announcements:

Marie announced that the Frederick Marathon is the weekend of May 5th, May 6th and our NAC is stationed at TJ High. We have another meeting before the event.

Our next NAC meeting is set for Tues May 1st, 7 p.m., North Frederick Elementary School.

Sincerely,

Claudia J. Winkelman, Secretary
