NAC 6 MINUTES –
May 10, 2004
Present: Katherine J. Jones, Trish Cunningham,
Sgt. Hansell, Paul Dienes, Bob Smariga.
Katherine moderated
while taking notes for this meeting.
We approved the minutes
for publication for February 26, March 8 and March 25.
Sgt. Hansell had a
report about a break in at Amber Meadows.
It was just a general warning.
Our next meetings are
July 19 and August 16.
The speed signs have
been assigned to our Wilson Place neighborhood, and Sgt. Hansell will bring the
statistics they collected to the next meeting.
Sgt. Hansell also
reported about the red light cameras and how they will aid in enforcement of
the traffic lights.
Paul proposed arranging
another meeting with Sheetz to try to resolve the issues surrounding their noncompliance
with their site plan, as approved by the City.
We discussed the
community input we received outside of our public meetings, as reported in the
minutes from March. A neighbor
expressed support for the proposal, but expressed concerns about engine noise,
and would rather have speed bumps with the stop signs.
Trish received a call
from a neighbor about a need for a traffic survey, and supports efforts to calm
traffic in the neighborhood.
Katherine received two
calls, one strongly opposed to the proposal, and one strongly in favor from a
neighbor whose disabilities prevented him from being able to attend the
meetings.
Katherine will
summarize and publish the emails we received on our website.
We reviewed the form to
request the traffic survey and the stop signs and speed bumps. The form and attached letter was approved,
and we signed it. Paul will submit the
proposals.
Once we have submitted
the proposal, Katherine will post a notice on the website to announce that it
has been submitted.
Trish produced a letter
from the State Highway Administration about the expansion of route 15. We had some discussion about the
letter.
