Welcome and and Introductions

Police Officers Report

No specific and recent activities were delegated to the officer to report at the meeting.  He stated that their department was very involved in the activities in Addison’s Choice Neighborhood.  The Police Officer that attended mention that they are quite involved in the problems of Addisons Choice and was anxious to leave due to a call from that area at that moment.

Neighbor Concerns

1)  Taskers Chance- Rosehaven Community Resident concern: There is currently an extremely high volume of trespassing from Shookstown Road onto the private property of the residents.  The residents receive pounding on windows and homes around 11:00 p.m., also loud sounds, vulgarities.  The resident would like to know the status on a fence to be constructed behind their homes to prevent the above activities - immediately.

Action:  Stephanie Davis informed us that she spoke with the head of the traffic department and was told that at this moment, there are no funds and no plans confirmed to widen the road.  She said that it is all talk as it has been for years and years; therefore, we can go ahead and put up a fence or wall barrier if we wish.

2)  Home and Business Alarm Systems:  Diane addressed a new ordinance that was just passed last Thursday concerning house and business alarms.  All alarms must be registered with the Police Department immediately and then renewed annually.  They are going to crack down on false alarms that come into the station.  The first and second false alarms are free, after that people will be fined.  If you have not registered, you will be fined $100 per false alarm.  If you have registered, you will be billed $25, then $50, followed by $100 and so on as a residential home.  Businesses are double the residential home payment fees.

Action:  Stephanie Davis may schedule a specialist to join the next meeting to discuss the ordinance in further detail.

3) New NAC-5 Member Question: Per Stephanie Davis, the City is not taking any on new members onto NAC 5 until she has met with her boss and revamped the NAC committee situation
