NAC 11 Meeting

NAC 11 members present: Truby LaGarde, Ken Eidel, Mike Olson, Elin Ross

Development Presentations

Tim Davis, Regarding East Street Extension Project—(handout) The project is due to be completed by February 2009 and is to complete the project all at one time rather than piecemeal.  Further information and site plans can be found at www.cityoffrederick.com. 

 

Richard Griffin, regarding Carroll Creek Park Project Phase 2 (Delaplaine to Patrick Street)—A task force meets weekly to make recommendations regarding planning, which will include a bike path and fencing along Mullinax Park, water features and retaining walls.  Construction is slated to begin mid/late 2007.  Further information and site plans can be found at www.cityoffrederick.com.

 

Police Report

Sgt. Wayne Trapp—showed the Department’s Daily Bulletin Review, which is a proactive tool designed to target issues in specific “beats”.  All officers are required to carry these with them. 

Other Discussion:

 

Carmack Jay site—Mr. Tobin stated that the City is continuing to advocate for a grocery on the site but that it may not be feasible.  Other alternatives include a drugstore or hardware store.

 

All-NAC meeting (December 14)—Ken suggested that in the future they be combined with a “meet the Aldermen” event, he will discuss the possibility with Ken Berlin.  One possible discussion topic is re-districting of NACs, better communication regarding meetings and agenda items and ultimately the purpose of the NAC, standardization of membership and appointment of NAC members.  Mike and/or Elin will attend the All-NAC meeting on the 14th.

 

Request was made to have Mike Blank attend a meeting in the spring to discuss code enforcement.

 

Announcements:

Frosty Friday will be held on December 1st.

 

There will be no December meeting, next meeting will be held on January 16th.
