TAXI CAB COMMISSION MEETING

Present: Alderman Bill Hall, Alderman Donna Kuzemchak Ramsburg, Lt. Tom Chase, Jerry Wood, Paul Brunner, William Bowie, Kenny Shapiro, Eileen Farrar

Item 1: Minutes from the meeting of April 26^th, 2004 and July 26^th, 2004 were approved as written. The minutes from June 21^st, 2004 were tabled until the next meeting.

Item 2: Discussion regarding insurance requirements for Taxicabs.

Mr. Paul Brunner an agent from Brunner Insurance Company spoke to the Commission. Mr. Brunner stated that currently the insurance limits required for taxicabs are the base limits for the state of Maryland. $15,000 dollars under property damage liability section, $20,000 per person under bodily injury with a cap of $40,000 per injury, the uninsured coverage read the same. Personal injury protection is $2,500 worth of medical payments per person in your vehicle, that part can be waived. Mr. Brunner stated that he would like to see higher limits due to the higher cost now.
