(a) No persons shall interfere with, tamper with, open, close, alter, deface or remove a water main, water service or any appurtenances or fittings attached thereto including but not limited to water valves, stop cocks, ferrels, water meters, curb stops, gauges, pumps or generators without the written permission of the water superintendent.
