Chapter 25 WATER*
Sec. 25-19. Meter rates within the city.
(a) In all cases where meters have been installed, the rates of rental
for the use of water shall be payable in periodic installments as established by
resolution of the mayor and board of aldermen. Such meter rates shall apply and
take effect as soon as the meter shall have been installed; provided, that the
flat rate shall continue in force until the meter rate shall become
effective.
(b) The rates of water rent, payable in installments at the end
of each term, shall be established by resolution of the mayor and board of
aldermen.
(c) Upon application, all users who prove that water is being used
for cooling, used in product manufacture or other use, and is not being returned
to the city for processing through the waste water treatment system shall not be
charged a sewer charge for water purchased pursuant to this subsection. The user
shall consent in writing to inspection of his property at any time by the city
to ensure compliance with the terms herein. Cost in installment of equipment
necessary to meter water used shall be paid by the user.
(d) All water
hauled by tank truck or other similar means shall be sold at four (4) times the
rate calculated as if a one inch meter is used. Said water must be used within
thirty (30) days of application for same, or an additional minimum charge may be
levied for any water consumed thereafter. (Code 1953, § 21.30; 1961 Supp.,
