Sec. 25-16. Laying of private pipes.


All private pipes conveying water shall be laid at the same depth as the depth of the service main at the stopcock situated on the pavement or sidewalk. Every person laying such private pipe shall be liable for the expense which may be incurred in laying such private pipe at the necessary depth. In no case shall private pipe be required to be laid at a greater depth than three (3) feet from the surface. (Code 1953, § 21.24)
