Sec. 22-60. License--Exemptions.


(a) Persons engaged in the following activities are exempt from the licensing requirements of this article:
(1) Selling merchandise or commodities directly to manufacturers, wholesalers or retail establishments for use in their business or for resale;
(2) Taking orders for merchandise or commodities for future delivery;
(3) Visiting any residence or apartment with the intent to sell, or offer for sale, merchandise or commodities at the request or invitation of the owner or occupant thereof;
(4) Selling merchandise or commodities by route who make deliveries at least once a week to regular customers and whose solicitation is only incidental to their regular deliveries.
(5) Persons lawfully engaged in the sale of locally grown produce in season as defined in article I, section 22-7.1 of this Code.
(b) The promoter, sponsor or other person, firm, corporation or legal entity organizing a convention, sale or show which includes ten (10) or more exhibitors, merchants, vendors, or dealers selling or offering to sell merchandise or commodities shall pay a license fee, obtain a license, and comply with all provisions of this article.
