The slope or rise of the sidewalk from the curb to the lot line shall not be more than one-half (1/2) nor less than one-fourth (1/4) of an inch to the foot and shall be in conformity to the grade of the street. It shall be unlawful to lay sidewalks to any other slope or grade unless otherwise fixed and determined by the city. (Code 1953, § 18.29)
