Chapter 18 PUBLIC AMUSEMENTS*
ARTICLE I. IN GENERAL
Sec. 18-1. Licenses--Required generally.
No person shall, within the city, act, exhibit, play or perform any
farce, play, show, circus, rodeo, carnival, theatrical or dramatic performance
or any other public entertainment or exhibition for gain, except vocal or
instrumental concerts, exhibitions of paintings or sculpture and lectures for
disseminating useful knowledge and entertainment for religious, charitable and
educational purposes, without a license from the city treasurer. The license,
when issued, shall always express the specific purpose or object for which it is
granted, and the period of time during which it is to continue. Violation of
this section is declared to be a municipal infraction. The penalty for violation
shall be the sum of twenty-five dollars ($25.00). (Code 1953, § 14.1; Ord.
