Chapter 17 POLICE DEPARTMENT*
ARTICLE I. IN GENERAL
Sec. 17-1. Composition; appointment of officers.
The chief public safety officer, otherwise known as the chief of
police, shall hold the rank of colonel in the police department. In addition
thereto, there shall be such number of officers and superior officers of rank as
from time to time shall be designated, authorized, appointed and directed by the
