The board of aldermen shall have the authority to establish zones upon which parking meters shall be placed and may do so by unwritten resolution. A written notification of the resolution shall thereafter be immediately delivered to the superintendent of parking who shall keep a full list of the designated zones in a permanent public file within the police department and parking department of the city.
