Sec. 13-28. Improper parking.


Except as is necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with law or the directions of a police officer or traffic-control device, a person may not stop, stand, or park a vehicle:
(a) In front of a public driveway;
(b) On a sidewalk;
(c) On a crosswalk;
(d) Alongside or opposite any highway excavation or obstruction if to do so would obstruct traffic;
(e) Upon any bridge or other elevated structure upon a street;
(f) Unless for the use of a handicapped individual, in a space or zone marked as restricted for the use of handicapped individuals;
(g) Otherwise than within the lines or markings painted or placed upon the curb, upon the street, within the parking deck, or on a city parking lot for the purpose of designating a parking space;
(h) In any designated fire lane; or
(i) In any other manner which obstructs the free flow of traffic and which may jeopardize thereby the safety of the motoring public or of pedestrians. (Code 1953, § 10.88; Ord. No. G-79-7, § 1, 3-1-79)
