Sec. 10-9.1. Removal of grass and weeds.


On all streets where there is a space between the curb and the sidewalk, or a space between the sidewalk and the lot line, the grass growing therein shall be kept cut short. All grass and weeds growing on any lot shall be cut down and removed so that the same shall not become detrimental to public health. The owner must cut down and remove any vegetable matter, grass or weeds which, in the opinion of the director of permits and code management, or his designee, is detrimental to the public health or constitutes a nuisance, within five (5) days of the date of a notice to do so from the director of permits and code management, or his designee. In the event the owner shall fail or refuse to comply with such notice, it shall be lawful for the city to cut and remove the same and charge the cost to the owner. Violation of this section is declared to be a municipal infraction. The penalty for violation shall be a fine in an amount not to exceed two hundred dollars ($200.00). (Ord. No. 99-40, § 1, 7-15-99)
