Sec. 10-12. Public trash receptacles.



It shall be unlawful for any person to remove or cause to be removed from any street or sidewalk in the city any receptacle furnished by the city for the deposit of trash. It shall be unlawful for any person to sit upon or deface any such receptacle or cause it to be used in any way which causes it to be inaccessible for the receipt of trash. It shall be unlawful for any person to place, store or cause to be placed or stored, any goods, merchandise, trash, or any other material near any such receptacle, in such a manner as to interfere with or preclude the use of any such receptacle, for the purpose which it is intended to serve. Violation of this section is declared to be a municipal infraction. The penalty for violation shall be a fine not to exceed two hundred dollars ($200.00). Any costs associated with repairing or replacing a damaged container may be charged to the violator. (Ord. No. G-99-30, § 1, 7-15-99; Ord. No. 99-43, § 1, 7-15-99)
