Chapter 9 FIRE PROTECTION*
Sec. 9-5. Evacuation.
When, in the opinion of the city fire protection engineer, there is
actual and/or potential danger to the occupants or those in the proximity of any
building, structure or premises because of any violation of the city fire
prevention code constituting a dangerous or hazardous condition, the city fire
protection engineer may order the immediate evacuation of said building,
structure or premises. All of the occupants so notified shall immediately leave
the building, structure or premises, and persons shall not enter or reenter
until authorized to do so by the city fire protection engineer. The city fire
protection engineer shall order such dangerous conditions and materials removed
or remedied. Buildings or premises deemed unsafe by the city fire protection
engineer for fire prevention code violations or the presence of dangerous or
hazardous conditions may be reopened for inspection by the city fire protection
engineer or his assistant(s). After inspection of the said building and a
written determination by the city fire protection engineer that it is safe and
habitable, the building or premises may be occupied. (Ord. No. G-83-26, §
