Sec. 9-5. Evacuation.


When, in the opinion of the city fire protection engineer, there is actual and/or potential danger to the occupants or those in the proximity of any building, structure or premises because of any violation of the city fire prevention code constituting a dangerous or hazardous condition, the city fire protection engineer may order the immediate evacuation of said building, structure or premises. All of the occupants so notified shall immediately leave the building, structure or premises, and persons shall not enter or reenter until authorized to do so by the city fire protection engineer. The city fire protection engineer shall order such dangerous conditions and materials removed or remedied. Buildings or premises deemed unsafe by the city fire protection engineer for fire prevention code violations or the presence of dangerous or hazardous conditions may be reopened for inspection by the city fire protection engineer or his assistant(s). After inspection of the said building and a written determination by the city fire protection engineer that it is safe and habitable, the building or premises may be occupied. (Ord.
