Sec. 2-40. Removal for cause.


Upon written charges and after a hearing by the mayor and board of aldermen, the mayor may remove a commission member for cause, with the advice and consent of the board of aldermen. For purposes of this provision, “cause” includes, but is not limited to, violation of the attendance requirements imposed by the commission’s regulations; failure to comply with the training/continuing education requirements imposed by the commission’s regulations; repeated lack of preparation for meetings resulting in dereliction of duty/ineligibility to vote; or violation of the ethics laws of Chapter 21 of the city code.
