Sec. 2-7. Duties generally.


The city engineer shall attend all regular and special meetings of the board of aldermen, unless excused by the mayor. He shall, when requested by the mayor or any member of the board of aldermen, attend committee meetings and make tours of inspection with the mayor, any committee of the board of aldermen or any other city officials. He shall provide engineering services for the city and shall perform such additional services as shall be required of him by the mayor, the board of aldermen or any committee thereof.
The city engineer shall have charge of all engineering work on the streets, sewers, bridges and public places, whether by contract or otherwise.
The city engineer, when requested, shall make reports to the board of aldermen of the work done under his supervision. (Code 1953, § 2.10; Ord. No. G-90-21, § 1, 10-18-90)
