Sec. 1-7. General penalty; continuing violations.



Whenever in this Code or in any ordinance or resolution of the city or in any rule, regulation or order promulgated by any officer or agency of the city under authority duly vested in him or it, any act is prohibited or is made or declared to be unlawful or an offense or a misdemeanor, or whenever in such Code or ordinance the doing of any act is required and the failure to do an act is declared to be unlawful or an offense or a misdemeanor, where no specific penalty is provided therefor, the violation of any such ordinance shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) or by imprisonment for not more than six (6) months, or by both such fine and incarceration in the discretion of the court. Each day any violation of any provision of this Code or of any such ordinance, resolution, rule, regulation or order shall continue shall constitute a separate offense. This section shall not apply to those provisions in this Code declared to be municipal infractions. (Code 1953, § 1.5; Ord. No. G-74-18, § 1; Ord. No. G-75-11, § 1; Ord.
