The mayor must have been a legal resident of the City of Frederick for at least one (1) year immediately preceding his election and shall have and maintain his principal place of residence or domicile, as defined by Maryland law, as amended from time to time, in the City of Frederick during his term and must be a qualified registered voter of the city.
